Why image titles matter

The image title is the main reference for each file. It’s the link between what you type in a prompt and the correct image coming back.

For example, AI employee Soshie uses the image’s exact title to find it during post creation. No title match, no image.

Good titles also make your library easier to manage. Once you’ve got a few hundred images in there, a clear name is the difference between finding something in two seconds and scrolling forever.

How to reference an image in chat

Put the image name in quotes.

Example:

  • Create a post with the “summer-launch-hero” image.

That’s it. The quotes tell your AI employee you’re pointing at a specific file in Brain AI.

The name has to match the title stored in Brain AI exactly. Same spelling, same wording. If the stored title is summer-launch-hero and you type summer launch hero, that’s not a match.

How to rename an image after upload

Titles are editable at any time. You don’t need to delete anything or re-upload the file.

Steps:

  1. Locate the image in your Brain AI library.

  2. Click on it.

  3. Rename the title.

  4. Click Save.

Done. The new title is what you’ll use to reference it from then on.

This is also how you fix typos. If you uploaded sumemr-launch-hero by accident, just edit the title - no re-upload needed.

What happens if a title is vague

A vague or unclear title makes an image hard to reference accurately. Two things tend to happen:

  • Your AI employee picks the wrong image

  • Your AI employee picks no image at all

Neither is a bug - there’s just nothing specific enough to match against. image1, IMG_4821, and final-final all look the same to an AI employee trying to find your summer campaign hero shot.

The fix is quick: rename the title to something descriptive (steps above), then reference it again.

Naming tips

Three habits that make everything else easier:

  • Be descriptive. Say what the image actually is. summer-launch-hero beats photo3.

  • Be consistent. Pick a pattern and stick to it - for example, campaign-subject-variant. Consistency makes titles predictable, so you can guess a name correctly without looking it up.

  • Be unique. Avoid near-identical titles. If you’ve got product-shot and product-shot-2, you’ll eventually reference the wrong one.

Worth doing right at upload time, so you’re not renaming things later.
