The chat interface is where all of the communication happens with Sintra's helpers. In it you can ask the helper to execute tasks in their field of scope and they will return the executed task or a response in the same chat. Your conversations are saved to chat history that you can access later on.

Opening a chat

You can open a chat room dedicated to a specific helper both on mobile apps (iOS and Android) and on the browser app (which can be accessed via desktop and mobile devices).

Opening a chat on the browser app

To open a chat with a specific helper in the browser app, do the following:

  1. Go to the home page by clicking the home icon that's located on the left-side panel. In case you do not see the ta due to a zoomed in screen, click the three lines in the upper-left corner and you should be given a list of possible tabs.

  2. Click a helper card.

Opening a chat on a mobile app

  1. Go to the home page by clicking the home icon that's located in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

  2. Click "All Helpers" button.

  3. Click a helper card.

Navigating the chat interface

While we aim to unify the chat interface and navigation for both mobile and browser apps - they do minimally differ.

Mobile app chat interface

When you open a chat on a mobile app, you will see:

  • The helper’s avatar and name. Clicking on the name will let you access the Helper's personal conversation settings and guidelines.

  • Chat history and Helper's activity button in the upper-right corner that looks like an inbox icon.

  • A large text input field for entering your own message describing the task or a question for the helper.

  • A paperclip icon to attach a file to your message.

  • A lightning icon that contains all of the helper's power-ups, automations (if available), and suggested helper actions.

  • A voice record button that looks like wave-lenghts and allows recording your voice and transcribing it to the helper so you do not need to type.

Browser app chat interface

When you open a chat on a browser app, you will see:

  • The helper’s avatar and name.

  • A cog-wheel icon that allows accessing helper's personal conversation settings and guidelines.

  • A reverse clock icon that allows accessing all of the previous chats with this specific Helper.

  • (Sometimes) a suggestion card at the top that you can click to trigger a pre-scripted prompt.

  • For helper's that have automations - automation action cards above the message input field.

  • A large text input field for entering your own message describing the task or a question for the helper.

  • A paperclip icon to attach a file to your message.

  • A lightning icon that contains all of the helper's power-ups.

  • A microphone icon that allows recording your voice and transcribing it as a text message to the helper.

Helper's conversation settings

Within any helper's chat room, you can access their personal conversation settings that lets you customize how the helper replies. These settings will be applied only to the specific Helper; however, the Helper will behave the same in all of the workspaces.

Accessing Helper's personal conversation settings

  • On the mobile app: Click on the helper's name at the top of the chat.

  • On the browser app: Click the cog-wheel icon next to the helper's name.

Available settings

The Helper's personal conversation settings can adjust how the helper replies. Settings available:

  • Vibe: a slider ranging from official to casual that adjusts the tone of voice.

  • Message length: choose short, medium or long.

  • Language: buttons that control vocabulary and tone, you can choose either basic, casual or expert. If you wish to change the language the Helper replies in - you can do so in your account's setting's page.

  • Search Google toggle: allows the helper to fetch up-to-date information from the web.

  • Writing Style toggle: instructs the helper to match your existing content’s tone.

  • Custom instructions: a free-text field where you can specify additional guidelines. For example, you might say "Always reference our core values; never use emojis."

These settings apply per helper's chat and persist across messages, allowing you to fine-tune the helper’s behavior.
