What is a favicon?

A favicon is the small icon that appears in a browser tab next to your website's title. It helps visitors instantly recognise your site and adds a polished, branded feel to your web presence. By default, Sintra-generated websites include a placeholder favicon. You can replace it with your own logo or brand icon using one of the two methods below.

Note:

Favicons are rendered as vector graphics (SVG), which means the result may look slightly different from the original PNG or raster image you upload. For best results, use a clean, simple logo or icon rather than a detailed photograph.

Method 1: Changing the favicon via homepage main chat (customers with credits only)

If you are using credits and have the new main homepage chat experience enabled (screenshot for reference down below), this is the quickest way to update your favicon.

To update the favicon this way:

  1. Open the homepage main chat in your Sintra workspace as shown in the screenshot above.

  2. Type a message asking to change the favicon - for example: "Please update the favicon on my website."

  3. Upload your favicon image directly into the chat. You can upload either:

    An SVG file

    A PNG file

  4. The helper will apply the favicon to your website automatically.

Note: After the change is applied, make sure to check the result in an incognito/private browser window - your regular browser may show a cached version of the old favicon.

Method 2: Changing the favicon via Commet directly.

If you'd like to change favicon using direct chat with Commet, follow these steps to update it.

Important: Do not upload the image directly into the chat with Commet. Pasting or uploading images into chat converts them to a different format, which will not work as a favicon. You must go through Brain AI instead (see steps below).

Step 1 - Convert your image to SVG

Commet requires the favicon image to be in SVG format.

If your image is currently a .png , .jpg , or another format, convert it first:

  1. Upload your image and follow the on-screen steps to convert it.

  2. Download the resulting .svg file to your device.

Step 2 - Upload the SVG to Brain AI

Once you have your .svg file ready, upload it to Brain AI so Commet can reference it properly.

  1. Open Brain AI in your Sintra workspace.

  2. Upload your .svg file to your knowledge base.

Note the filename - you will need to reference it by name in the next step (e.g. file.svg).

Step 3 - Ask Commet to apply the favicon

With the SVG uploaded to Brain AI, open a chat with Commet and send a message like:

"Please add [file.svg] as the favicon on my website."

Replace file.svg with the actual filename of the image you uploaded to Brain AI.

Commet will locate the file and apply it as the favicon on your site.

Step 4 - Publish the website

After Commet applies the favicon, you need to publish the website for the change to go live.

Ask Commet to publish, or use the publish button in the website preview panel.

Verifying the favicon update

Once the site is published, confirm the favicon has updated correctly:

  1. Open a new incognito / private browsing window (this bypasses your browser's cache).

  2. Navigate to your website URL.

  3. Look at the browser tab - you should see your new favicon icon displayed next to the site title, like in the example below:

Don't see the change yet? If the new favicon doesn't appear even in incognito mode, try hard-refreshing the page ( Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows, Cmd + Shift + R on Mac) or wait a few minutes and check again, as changes can sometimes take a moment to propagate.
